A short distance from the city center will lead you to this lovely view over Brasov Romania. Located in the region of Transylvania, Brasov is one of the most popular destinations within Romania. This is due not only to its fine medieval center and pleasant setting among the Carpathian Mountains, but also its proximity to Bran Castle (“Dracula’s Castle”). Getting a view above the city like this isn’t hard, you just have to know where to go. Walk up to the Black Tower, or “Turnul Negru”, one of four watch towers located outside the city walls. The tower was restored in 1995, complete with a glass roof, but originally dates from the 15th century. Only about a 20 minute walk up from the center square, the Black Tower is a perfect place to watch the setting sun cast its glow over Brasov.
